Zomba, Malawi
An 8-acre off-grid residential project in the shadow of Zomba Plateau. Two furnished houses, a yoga and meditation studio, permaculture gardens, and the best sunsets in the district. Open for long-term and short-term stays.

The Place
Plateau East started in 2020 as a permaculture farm and grew into a small village. It sits on 8 acres of land on the eastern approach to Zomba Plateau, a short drive from town. Everything here was built from the ground up: the houses, the gardens, the power systems, the water infrastructure. Six full-time staff keep it running.
Constant power from solar panels. No grid dependency.
Reliable high-speed internet. Remote work ready.
Gardens, reforestation, and composting systems.
Dedicated studio space for practice.
Stay With Us

Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a tub and double showers. An indoor-outdoor kitchen with views of Zomba Plateau from the east. Spacious living room with TV and plenty of room for movie nights and guests. The views from the kitchen are the reason this place got its name.

Studio-style layout with one bedroom and a guest bed. Kitchen, composting toilet, and solar shower. Furnished and thoughtfully designed for simplicity. A quieter, more compact option with all the same infrastructure: Starlink, solar, security, and housekeeping.
On the Property
Both houses share access to the permaculture garden, gym, yoga and meditation studio, and the full 8-acre grounds. The property is a short drive from Zomba town center. Housekeeping and security are included.
